Course overview

SFJ Awards Level 4 Award in Revalidation for Intermediate Incident Command in the Fire Service (N.O.G. Level 2) is designed for learners who have previously qualified and require re-validation at Intermediate level in accordance with National Operational Guidance.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the award the learner will:

  • Be able to review and determine the status of operational incidents
  • Be able to assume responsibility for actions to support operational incidents
  • Be able to review responses to operational incidents.

How is the course assessed?

It is important to note that assessment on this course results in a straight Pass or Fail. The stages of assessment are:

  • Course Workbook:  Written assignments to assess knowledge and understanding.
  • Development exercise:  Practical Performance Assessment utilising the XVR simulation platform.
  • Summative assessment: Practical Performance Assessment utilising the XVR simulation platform.
