Course overview

Become a trusted tactical advisor in hazardous materials response.

This three-week residential programme, delivered in partnership with Collective Resilience, equips officers with the confidence, competence, and compliance required to manage hazmat incidents in line with National Operational Guidance.

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications required for this course, however operational fire and rescue experience and a background in hazardous materials and/or incident command is recommended.

Delivery format

  • Practical scenarios, tabletop exercises and theory sessions.
  • Duration: 15 days residential programme on site at the Fire Service College. 

Certification awarded

Hazardous Materials Advisor (JOIFF).
