The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to the alternative methods to any prescriptive guidance on building design, and to introduce delegates to the framework of BS 7974 and the principles of fire safety engineering.
The course is ideal for individuals and teams who are engaged in the design, installation, maintenance, testing, auditing and approval of fire safety engineered solutions. Course Entry Criteria Delegates should be engaged in a fire safety engineering role or have regulatory responsibilities, e.g. fire safety adviser; fire safety manager; fire engineering practitioner; a building control body.
This is a unique opportunity for delegates to receive guidance and interpretation of the BS7974 series as an introduction to fire safety engineering principles. Extensive use is made of a real case study to showcase typical engineered solutions and some of the problem areas that can occur.
This course is assessed against the learning outcomes using a written test. A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the course.
Attendance on this programme will assist with demonstration of knowledge & understanding required by elements of the National Occupational Standards for Fire Safety Adviser. Relevant elements are: FSA1.1, FSA1.2, FSB3.1, FSB3.2, FSB4.1, FSB5.1, FSB5.3, FSC1.1, FSC1.2, FSC1.3, FSC2.1, FSC2.2, FSC3.1,FSC3.2, FSC3.3, FSC4.1, FSC4.2, FSC5.1, FSC5.3
Successful completion of this course will also result in the learners receiving 31 Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) Continual Professional Development (CPD) hours.
