Encouraging leadership, communication and team working

Sixty delegates from Capita Group Property and Facilities Management recently visited the Fire Service College for the inaugural Capita Group Property Conference. Activities include a timed team building exercise designed to encourage strong leadership, communication and team working skills. With limited materials available, delegates were asked to build a “dam” which was then put to the test.

Each team was split into two groups, one group stayed indoors and fed instructions to the outdoor group responsible for building the dam, they were only allowed to use the instructions given by the indoor team and couldn’t stray from these.

Deborah Parker, Group Property Director, said: “On behalf of Group Property and Facilities Management I would like to say a ’big’ thank you to all involved in making our first ever Capita Group Property Conference so successful.

The feedback has been fabulous and I am sure that it would not have been as positive if it wasn’t for the great support and organisation that the College provided. From the welcome at the front desk, the room set-up, the Team Building exercise, to the cocktails and dinner it was a fabulous couple of days with a ‘can do’, supportive attitude from start to finish. Really professional, great execution and all with a smile!
