Course overview

Advance into aviation supervisory leadership with a programme that builds the command capability, confidence, and strategic awareness required for Level 2 Incident Command.

This two‑week programme prepares experienced Crew Commanders to transition into the role of Aviation Supervisor/Watch Commander, operating at Level 2 Incident Command. The course develops your ability to lead larger, more complex aviation incidents while integrating legal, tactical, and organisational responsibilities. Training is aligned to CAP 699 AWM 1–7 and provides a full ICL2 qualification, ensuring parity with Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services and supporting organisational Integrated Risk Management Plans (IRMPs). Through simulations, fire‑ground scenarios, and structured command development, you’ll gain the confidence and competence to manage multi-resource incidents and coordinate teams safely and effectively.
