Job Title: Learning Media Developer

Reporting To: Training Quality Assurance Manager

Position Overview:

To provide high quality development, editing and maintenance of all Fire Service College (FSC) learning media, learning management system and Cloud information repository, which is used to enhance the experience of all learners, while providing administrative support in the production of learning materials, both electronically and printed.


     Principle Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Develop media content, supporting E-Learning development and Simulation Software scenarios
  • Edit key learning materials to maintain the FSC branding and protect copyright
  • Maintain and update the FSC Learning Management System
  • Ensure the accurate production and dissemination of all necessary learning materials in line with the FSC training delivery programme
  • Liaise with the Information Technology department around the maintenance of the cloud-based learning materials storage area
  • Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure accurate learning packages are reviewed, maintained and produced for all courses being delivered both on and off site
  • Liaise with training delivery staff on maintaining current learning packages (with support of Subject Matter Experts)
  • Able to save information in a logical and auditable manner so it can be easily located, shared and updated in accordance with FSC version control and course development processes.


Required Role-Specific Competencies / Experience / Educational Qualifications

  • Competent in the use of editing software, Articulate, SCORM, Video, animation etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a Learning Management System
  • Experience in learning product design, preferably in a technical/training sector
  • Minimum of BTEC Higher Diploma or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in multi-media, computer science or technical development
  • Experience of working with gaming engines
  • Experience of working within a virtual training and or other training & development environment
  • Experience of working with computer software and hardware systems
  • Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent
