The Fire Service College, has invested in three additional Mercedes fire appliances to enhance and upgrade the training fleet, these vehicles all have additional stowage space and ladder beam gantries.
The purchase is part of an ongoing programme of investment by the College in training equipment, the incident ground and other site facilities. This includes a refurbishment of visitor amenities in the Four Shires building, and the creation of a reed bed allowing for around 50% of water used for fire training to be recycled. Responding to increased demand, a new classroom is now available in the BA School and two further classrooms have been brought on-line in Four Shires.
Darren Bance, Managing Director, Fire Service College says “We are dedicated to a culture of continuous improvement, to investing in our facilities and supporting the training needs of our customers and the overall customer experience. The delivery of the new fire appliances and these other activities are just a few of the initiatives that we have planned in the short and longer term.”
