The finalists have been chosen for the e-Government National
Awards for 2010. The Fire Service College is delighted
that our project Learning Management System to deliver e-learning
to UK Fire and Rescue Services has been selected as a finalist in
the e-Governance excellence in Learning & Skills
category. The software system used for this project was
supplied by IMC (UK) Learning Ltd.
The UK's most closely watched public sector technology awards,
supported by the Prime Minister David Cameron, recognise excellence
and innovation in digital initiatives in national and local
government, the NHS, education and the third sector.
Finalists include a great diversity of excellence in
e-Government and public sector services from across the UK.
Councils, Central Goverment, voluntary organisations, universities
and others are all represented in this year's "best of the
best".
Prime Minister David Cameron said: "The e-Government National
Awards recognise some of the brilliant work done by digital
specialists working across national and local government. One of
our big ambitions is to make government more transparent, open and
accountable and digital communications will play a massive part in
that. I congratulate all the nominees and encourage all digital
specialists across the public sector to follow their good example
and innovation."
John Suffolk, Award judge and the Government's Chief Information
Officer, said "Once again it has been a privilege to be involved in
the e-Government awards, and I offer my congratulations to all the
winners. Against the backdrop of increasingly scarce financial
resources, the sheer innovation, quality and passion for public
service that these projects demonstrate make me hugely proud to be
leader of IT in the Public Sector."
The winners will be presented with their Awards at a ceremony in
London on 26 January 2011.
