College celebrates another national training award

The Fire Service College is delighted to have been honoured
with another prestigious National Training Award in
recognition of its outstanding contribution in facilitating
learning through the use of online media and tools.
The College and IMC (UK) Learning were announced
winners in the "best online or distance learning
programme" category at the National E-Learning Age Awards in
London. IMC supplied the software system used by the Fire Service
College. The award was in recognition of our
collaborative design and delivery of a blended learning
approach for Hazardous Materials training.
The who's who of e-learning gathered to celebrate the strength
and depth of successful e-learning that is taking place across the
globe. A record 37 winners were recognised within the 16
award categories. The E-Learning Awards showcased the
astonishing range and quality of e-learning within private, public
and not for profit sectors.
Competing with over 200 other entries from the UK, the US,
Europe and the Far East the award judges said "This skilfully
blended and powerfully implemented solution made an excellent
impression on the judges. The e-learning has galvanised a
traditional course where attendance had been falling. The
course is now fully booked even after the FSC put up two more
course to cope with rising demand."
