NFPA Training and Learning Course Developer (Associate Tutor Role) - Home based

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic course designer who has experience of designing blended learning packages to NFPA standards (or willing to learn).

This position is based from home and will require occasional travel to Moreton-in-Marsh. This is an associate tutor position, so will be on an as and when required basis.

Essential Skills:

  • Analyse learning objectives from the Fire Service National Operational Guidance and client specifications to identify, propose and recommend appropriate learning strategy options with a focus on what works in adult education
  • Apply creative and innovative approaches in the design of learning resources, in order to best support the development of Fire-Fighting professionals, whilst providing an efficient and effective solution
  • Working within a project environment, provide regular updates on progress, risk and issues in order to ensure projects are completed on time, to customer requirements
  • Work in partnership with colleagues in business areas across the College to support the design and development of learning resources and products to meet the National Operational and awarding body curriculum, career pathways, qualifications and associated learner needs
  • Liaise with College and other external learning and development practitioners in order to provide advice, guidance and assistance to support the implementation and evaluation of learning programmes and products, confirm fitness for purpose and resolve shortfalls in design or understanding where needed

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of the successful design and development of training and/or learning and development products by using a variety of learning and delivery approaches in order to ensure the most appropriate and effective solutions
  • Demonstrable track record in adopting an evidence-based focus when designing products
  • Experience in applying learning theory and methodology, ideally in adult learning, to meet specifications for enhancing knowledge and understanding and changing performance and behaviours
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skills in research, consultation and analysis of information from multiple sources to identify clear, appropriate learning
  • Attention to detail to produce a high quality product
  • Proficient in MS Office suite
  • Ability to prepare for and conduct a large scale consultation
  • Assessors qualification such as A1, AET or equivalent L&D or training qualification
  • L4 Teaching qualification or equivalent
