Incident Command Tutors

The Fire Service College is actively seeking permanent tutors to assist or lead in the delivery of Incident Command courses and assessment activities.

2 x Permanent Tutor Incident Command Delivery (immediate start)

Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire

Responsible to:

Incident Command Manager/ Training Delivery Manager

Job Purpose:

To assist and/or lead in the delivery of Incident Command Courses and assessment activities to support delegate development and achievement of accredited and non-accredited qualifications. To provide market leading training and development to all our clients including both the emergency services sector and private sector clients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The delivery of Incident Command Training and Development including all relevant paperwork, accredited and non-accredited qualification paperwork.
  • Assist with the management, development and performance of delegates to support an inclusive and high performing culture within The Fire Service College learning environment.
  • Ensure Incident Command Training and Development programmes are delivered to a high standard and seek constant improvement by monitoring programmes as necessary, and by advising the Training Delivery Manager, Product Development Team or Course Director on proposed improvements.
  • Design and deliver blended learning packages with the key aim of delivering and outstanding and inspiring learning experience.
  • Proactively support programme delivery to ensure Incident Command Training and Development programmes are delivered as planned and as scheduled.
  • Provide honest, fair and equitable feedback to delegates and assist in the creation of a Development Plan if required.
  • Maintain high levels of personal technical knowledge, skills and understanding with regard to the subject matter of Incident Command through Continuous Professional Development.
  • Attend training and development opportunities relevant to role when required.

Essential qualifications:

  • Incident command qualification at relevant level(s) – Ideally be able to deliver levels 1 and 2, but it would be advantageous to have above these, but not essential.
  • A minimum of a level 3 teaching qualification (PTLLS or AET 3) or must be completed within 6 months of joining.
  • Assessors qualification such as (A1 or CAVA) or must be completed within 6 months of starting.
  • Qualified member of a suitable professional body (eg IFE).
  • Relevant Health and safety Qualification (IOSH) or working towards.
